Vision and Values

The SCBA is a network of 52 churches making up the Gambrell and Gonzales Baptist Associations.

Our partnering churches are spread across portions of nine counties in south-central Texas: Bastrop, Caldwell, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, Karnes, Lavaca, and Wilson counties.

Our Vision
We are a fellowship of churches led by the Holy Spirit,
serving together to expand God’s kingdom through
encouraging one another,
equipping church leaders,
and establishing Great-Commission ministry partnerships,
all for the glory of God.

Our Values
Supporting Churches
Just as Christ supports His Church, we will support our local churches by offering care, counsel, and communication so that we may help our churches achieve the goals given to them by the Holy Spirit.
(1 Corinthians 3:9)

Sacrificial Service
Just as Christ gave His life for the Church, we choose to selflessly give our lives to build the kingdom by seeking opportunities
to serve one another.
(Romans 12:1; Ephesians 5:2)

Sustaining Trust
Just as Christ was above reproach, we commit ourselves to being trustworthy by living in uprightness, transparency, and excellence, holding one another accountable before God and man.
(2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 1:16)

Strengthening Fellowship
Just as Christ encourages us through fellowship, we will partner with Him to develop healthy relationships among pastors and church leaders by providing opportunities to know one another, celebrate together, share burdens and provide accountability as desired.
(1 John 1:5-7; Hebrews 10:19-25)

Sharpening Effectiveness
Just as Christ enables us to be effective in ministry through the Holy Spirit, we will work together to strengthen church staff and members by providing practical training and opportunities where different perspectives and ideas can be shared in order to make a difference in our churches, communities and for the Kingdom.
(John 14:12; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
